When the reduced Build Back Better plan was revealed by Manchin and Schumer, Senator McConnell (R-KY) had no idea.
Had McConnell known what they were up to, it is unlikely that Republicans would have signed off on that massive chip legislation.
McConnell was livid, feeling betrayed, but all it proved to me was that he is past his time and needs to be replaced as the leader.
Time to Go
Manchin is a sneaky SOB, and he proved it again.
When Manchin was asked about deceiving McConnell and Republicans, he replied, “No, you know, I sure hope they don’t feel that way.
“I mean, I understand that they are, but I don’t know why.”
Well, they do, Joe, and McConnell let it fly.
He stated, “Democrats say all these historic tax hikes are their answer to the inflation they themselves caused.
“Our colleagues across the aisle have already completely lost Americans’ trust on the economy, before this reckless taxing and spending spree.
“Apparently, they want to see how much farther they can fall.”
In addition to the $52 billion in freebies the administration is handing out to chip companies, another check for more than $400 billion is getting written.
Oh, and they are going to jack up taxes on corporations amid a recession, all of which will be sent down the line to us.
