Boy, those English people sure do take their funerals seriously.
There was quite an uproar as the hearse carrying the Queen’s body through Scotland was seen.
The journey from Balmoral Castle to Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh is about six hours, and there was a “major” controversy during the early part of that journey that outraged mourners.
How Dare He!
The funeral director charged with preparing the Queen, William Purves, dared to have a sticker with his company name on the hearse.
Now, if you have attended a funeral, this is not exactly something out of the norm.
Actually, I have to salute the owner for leaving the logo on, at least initially.
What a great way to drum up business… his new slogan could be, “Good enough for the Queen, good enough for you!”
Anyway, mourners flipped out on social media, with one person writing, “Glad to see that the William Purves logo was removed from the Queen’s hearse somewhere along the route.
“Sad to see that it was there in the first place.”
Another stated, “Sad days when the funeral director makes sure he gets free advertising all the way to Edinburgh.
“You should be ashamed of yourselves, William Purves.”
Now, if this was the average person, there would not be a stitch of outrage over the hearse’s logo on the window.
Sorry, but I do not share England’s outrage on this matter.
The only thing that upsets me about the story is that he caved and took the logo off!
