Senator Joe Manchin (D-W.V.) has screwed us all again.
After grabbing headlines for stonewalling Democrat leadership over Build Back Better, he made a backroom deal with Schumer to get the bill passed.
It is far less than the $3 trillion Biden initially wanted, but it will sting us all just as badly.
Get Ready for It
There are two parts of this bill that concern me the most.
The first is the energy aspect of it, which is about to crush the fossil fuel industry.
The second is corporate tax due to the timing amid a recession.
If Democrats do not think these companies will either cut staffing and/or pass the taxes on to the consumer, they are idiots.
Manchin tried to put lipstick on this pig, stating, “For too long, the reconciliation debate in Washington has been defined by how it can help advance Democrats’ political agenda called Build Back Better.
“Build Back Better is dead, and instead we have the opportunity to make our country stronger by bringing Americans together.”
Most of our summers have been ruined and Manchin just assured us all of a Christmas tree with nothing under it, more than likely for years to come.
