Co-hosts Thomas and Hislop were chatting amicably when the incident occurred; immediately, Thomas yelled out his name until three people ran to the scene and stood around doing very little while he tried to wake up Hislop.
“Shak! Shak! We need some help!” Thomas shouted into his microphone. “We need medical!”
After cutting away from commercial break, Thomas tweeted that Hislop was conscious and incredibly apologetic for what had happened.
“Shaka is conscious,” he wrote to his followers. “The medics are looking after him.” He later did an on-camera update for fans in which he revealed that “He’s conscious, he’s talking. I think he’s a little embarrassed about it all – he’s apologized profusely.”
At this time there is no specific information regarding what caused Hislop’s sudden collapse during the show.
Reports from his wife suggest that he is currently doing well however, more details may be released in due course as further investigations take place into what happened on Sunday night at the Rose Bowl stadium.
