The National Police Association is not happy with Nancy Pelosi or her kangaroo court. In the three-D chess game this looks like “check,” because they blasted her partisan panel so hard it exploded. The so-called probe into the barbarian invasion is nothing but a Democrat circus, and a third rate one at that. It’s hard to see how Pelosi can make a move to get out of her corner now.
Association disgusted by Pelosi
Nancy Pelosi wanted to have a circus, which means you need to bring out the elephants. Instead, what she produced is nothing but a third-rate, low-budget, dog and pony show. At least that’s what the National Police Association calls it, through their spokesperson, Betsy Brantner Smith.
She told Faux News that “testimony from four police officers who defended the Capitol that day was important, but so is testimony from police officers who were injured during last summer’s George Floyd protests.” What Nancy and her hand picked panel of Democrats and RINOs are filling the airwaves with is a sham. “I find this whole January 6 Commission, frankly, a dog and pony show. It doesn’t tell the whole story.”

Smith has the right to say that because she’s a retired police sergeant. She agrees that “people need to see that police officers go through horrible things.”
The QAnon inspired invasion of the Capitol, under the possible direction of the FBI, was nothing compared to the violence faced by street officers from coast-to-coast in last year’s Black Lives Matter™ looting, and Antifa® brand anarchy. Even worse was the general Democrat insurrection from city and state leaders who refuse to follow their oaths of office. That’s why the Association wants nothing to do with Pelosi or her panel.
If Pelosi really wanted to be fair, the association insists, then the American public needs to hear that side of the story too.
Two-Thirds of Voters Want Congress to Investigate 2020 Riots https://t.co/IzJ411XbXV

“The 2020 riots, we can’t just say the whole George Floyd thing was bad and that’s what cops have to deal with and then watch these four weeping men talk about their experiences.” We have yet to hear answers to any of the really pointed questions conservatives have. Ones like were were Capitol Security teams that day?
Ignoring thousands of officers
Pelosi and her poison panel are “ignoring thousands and thousands of police officers, ignoring their feelings and their experiences and their injuries.” Everything from frozen water bottles to commercial fireworks, to green lasers, were used as weapons against them.
Somebody is organizing the looting sprees and Democrats are still trying to impeach Trump for colluding with Russia. As Political Insider notes, “It isn’t just the National Police Association, it’s the American people that want the Black Lives Matter riots investigated with the same fervor.”
In emotional remarks, GOP Rep. Adam Kinzinger praises officers who defended U.S. Capitol: "You guys won. You guys held."

Not only that, the American people, including Democrats, “are clamoring more for that investigation than they are House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s partisan select committee,” the Association argues. They have a recent Rasmussen poll to back it up too.
More “Americans want the 2020 summer BLM riots investigated (66%) than want an investigation into the Capitol riot (49%).” That, as they say, is “a landslide.”
I led ten of my colleagues in writing a letter to AG Merrick Garland asking him to address the treatment of these Americans versus the treatment of those who rioted in cities during BLM protests.
We need to have a justice system that treats all people equally before the law.

Members of the Police Association aren’t going to pay any attention to Pelosi and her panel because “over 2,000 police officers suffered injuries in the line of duty during the 2020 riots.” Nobody wants to talk about them. Or the 12 who were shot. Good cops were killed in everything from incidents defending against looters to outright ambush.

The officers who remain are counting the days to retirement or heading for the hills to leave law enforcement. “We have thousands of police officers around the country who are retiring because of post-traumatic stress because of the riots.” Welcome back to the thrilling days of yesteryear where the law of the land is the gun in your hand. Justice is becoming Do-it-yourself, vigilante style these days and Pelosi’s kangaroo court only makes that solution seem more and more attractive every day.
