If Trump supporters needed another reason to despise Mike Pence, they just got it.
The latest indictment by Jack Smith actually refers to Mike Pence’s notes leading up to, the day of, and the days after the January 6 riot.
Perhaps that is why Pence released such an aggressive statement against Trump after the indictment came out.
Mike Did It
This latest indictment is a load of horsesh**, and most people that know the Constitution know this.
There is so much conjecture, there is simply no way this particular indictment holds up in court.
Regardless, at the center of the indictment are notes that were taken by then-Vice President Pence.
In Pence’s notes, several conversations are noted where Trump was trying to convince Pence that the DOJ had found election irregularities.
Smith, in the indictment, calls them false claims.
The indictment reads, “As the January 6 congressional certification proceeding approached and other efforts to impair, obstruct, and defeat the federal government function failed, [Trump] sought to enlist the Vice President to use his ceremonial role at the certification to fraudulently alter the election results.
“The Defendant did this first by using knowingly false claims of election fraud to convince the Vice President to accept the Defendant’s fraudulent electors, reject legitimate electoral votes, or send legitimate electoral votes to state legislatures for review rather than count them.
“When that failed, the Defendant attempted to use a crowd of supporters that he had gathered in Washington, D.C., to pressure the Vice President to fraudulently alter the election results.”
When Pence insisted that he did not have the power to do as Trump wished regarding the certification of the election, Trump replied, “You’re too honest.
“Hundreds of thousands are gonna hate your guts… People are gonna think you’re stupid.”
Trump was right about everything, only he grossly underestimated the number of people that now hate Pence.
