A shocking story which describes nothing short of a miracle has gone viral online. Back in 1984, Terry Wallis suffered a horrific car accident, causing him to plunge into a creek and fall into a 19-year-long coma. Now, awaking after 19 long years, he managed to leave his family members shocked by speaking these words…
Terry Wallis was driving with a friend when their car veered off the road and plunged into the creek. The next day, they were found under the bridge with his friend already dead and Terry left in a coma.
At this time, Ronald Reagan was president and Bill Clinton served as Arkansas’s governor.
When Terry first woke up from his coma, he uttered only two words: “Mum” and “Pepsi”—these being two of the few things that he could remember at first.
He progressed further to saying sentences but during this time, everyone around him still couldn’t believe what had happened.
His mother Angilee Wallis said that her initial reaction was shock beyond belief: she fell on the floor completely overwhelmed by what had happened after 19 years of silence.
Amber, who was born just before her father’s accident is now 19 years old—the same age as when her dad had been involved in the crash all those years ago.
Amidst all this happy news however lies an even greater tragedy; due to his quadriplegic state caused by the crash, Terry is unable to walk again which deeply affects his wife Sandi who said “it has been hard dealing with it.”
However they remain strong together as a family while cherishing every moment they spent together since then—which includes some remarkable memories such as when Terry recited his grandmother’s telephone number despite not having seen her for many years prior to waking up from his coma.
Jerry Wallis expressed how amazed he felt upon hearing about Terry’s progress: “he talks almost nonstop now”.
Despite these minor issues however, everyone remains delighted about how far Terry has come since waking up from his long slumber.
