Seven years ago on September 11, 2016, Hillary Clinton was seen in New York City making an appearance at Ground Zero.
Video footage captured at the time showed Clinton collapse before making her way into the van.
But the part that likely made the video go viral was witnessing Clinton’s handlers toss her into the van afterwards.

It was thought that the reason for her faint and subsequent collapse had to do with the weather – 75 degrees Fahrenheit is not usually considered “uncomfortable” by any means.
However, according to her doctor’s statement released later that day, what really happened was that she had been diagnosed with pneumonia earlier in the week and had become dehydrated as a result of it.
This incident was quickly overshadowed by questions about how honest Hillary Clinton had been with the American people regarding her health issues.

Hillary’s doctor issued an official statement saying that she had been diagnosed with pneumonia two days before her fainting episode at Ground Zero.
This diagnosis seemed to fit into the narrative of why she passed out however, a few details were left out of this story.
After leaving Chelsea’s apartment later in the afternoon, Hillary hugged a young girl despite still being contagious with pneumonia which raised safety concerns for both of them.
Additionally, while doctors commonly advise patients who have been diagnosed with pneumonia to rest and take antibiotics as prescribed – as stated in her doctor’s statement – none of these precautions seemed to be taken by Clinton leading to speculation about whether or not she actually took her illness seriously enough.

Questions about honesty loomed large during the election season following this event but it is impossible to say definitively if lying about being ill contributed significantly towards her loss against Donald Trump in 2016.
