New York City Mayor Eric Adams insists he didn’t do anything wrong so cheerfully handed over his cell phones and other devices when the FBI came looking for them. His top fundraiser, Brianna Suggs, is under the microscope for soliciting improper donations, potentially funded by Turkey. Some say the feds are cracking down only because the mayor has been critical of Joe Biden’s immigration policy.
Eric Adams cooperating with feds
Quietly and without a fuss, FBI agents “seized phones and an iPad from New York City Mayor Eric Adams.” They took possession “early this week,” The Hill reported November 10.
It’s all “part of an investigation into political fundraising during his 2021 campaign.”
Adams is confidant he’ll be cleared of any wrongdoing. No matter what his minions might get convicted for. The Federal Bureau of Instigation likes to do things in public so they rousted the mayor and relieved him of his devices as he was “leaving a public event in Manhattan.”

The investigation is reportedly looking into whether his campaign conspired with the Turkish government.

The mayor’s office soon released an official statement about it, trying to do some damage control after the bad optics.
“On Monday night, the FBI approached the mayor after an event. The Mayor immediately complied with the FBI’s request and provided them with electronic devices,” Adams spokesman Boyd Johnson relates.
“The mayor has not been accused of any wrongdoing and continues to cooperate with the investigation.” The New York Times broke the story, noting that the seizure “came four days after federal agents searched the Brooklyn home of Adams’ top campaign fundraiser, Brianna Suggs.” Adams had to return from his long awaited chance for a big meeting in Washington.
Nothing to hide
Even though Mayor Adams swears up and down that he has “nothing to hide” he did a sudden U-turn while Suggs was being raided. He had flown to D.C. as top spokesman for a group of Democrat mayors furious with the Biden regime’s lack of interest in he invasion crisis they created. As his limo was pulling up to the Capitol Building he instructed the driver to take him straight back to the airport.
Publicly available court documents separately suggest someone in the campaign found a way to seriously exploit an “eight times” matching offer. “Manhattan prosecutors brought charges against six people who allegedly sought to manipulate the fundraising program to funnel tens of thousands of dollars to Adams’ 2021 mayoral campaign.”
Adams insists he’ll set the example and cooperate fully. “As a former member of law enforcement, I expect all members of my staff to follow the law and fully cooperate with any sort of investigation — and I will continue to do exactly that.”

Until now, there has only been speculation that the feds were probing the mayor along with Suggs. The mayor is careful to insulate himself well and “has previously kept an arms-length distance from ethics scandals that have dogged several of his associates.”
When talking with reporters on Wednesday, Adams declared that he would “be ‘shocked‘ if anyone on his campaign acted inappropriately” but changed his tune by Friday. That’s when his attorney “discovered that an individual had recently acted improperly.”
They intentionally didn’t name names but were probably referring to Ms. Suggs. “After learning of the federal investigation, it was discovered that an individual had recently acted improperly. In the spirit of transparency and cooperation, this behavior was immediately and proactively reported to investigators.“
