Official reports are beginning to flood in, the President of Haiti has been assassinated. The first lady was also injured in the violent home attack with unofficial reports surfacing that she has succumbed to her injuries.

News began flooding in early and social media has begun to trend on the violent situation that unfolded at the Presidents private home.

The country’s acting prime minister, Claude Joseph, said in a statement that a group of unidentified people, some speaking Spanish, attacked Moïse’s residence around 1 a.m. Wednesday morning, shooting him and his wife.

“Measures are being taken in order to ensure the continuity of the state and to protect the nation,”

CNBC covered the story claiming Opposition leaders accused Moïse, who was 53, of seeking to increase his power, including by approving a decree that limited the powers of a court that audits government contracts and another that created an intelligence agency that answers only to the president.

The imperial palace was quick to jump on MSM and gave a half baked circle back kind of response to the assassination

The White House is assessing and gathering information about the “horrific attack,” White House press secretary Jen Psaki said on MSNBC.

“We’ll be helpful in any way to the people of Haiti, the government of Haiti, if there’s an investigation,” she said.
